Binding Void ZH
The Villa is an interpretation of the clients' own personalities who do not have a unified definition of a house. The husband is a social individual who celebrates life openly whereas the wife is a social introvert who enjoys her privacy and own space. Besides that, both agree that a home is a place to be happy and relaxed in, therefore Paseo looked into the meaning of happiness. Then translated it spatially to reflect the homeowners' characters. The design of the villa allows direct sunlight through the void during winter, and the cantilevers provide shaded spaces during the summer.
Binding Void ZH Architecture by Tarek Ibrahim was recognized as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Binding Void ZH Architecture was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2023. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that rewards excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
