Wugu Market
Wugu Market is a modern public market interior in New Taipei, Taiwan. The 2327 square meter space occupies the first floor of a formerly idle multi-storey car park. Stalls are divided into raw and cooked food zones to simplify management and hygiene control. The fresh area uses refrigerated display cabinets and a low-temperature meat processing area. The cooked food area uses an electrostatic fume system to purify the air. Non-slip tiles cover the floor. Natural cement tones and wood grain grilles recall the local green bamboo shoots and bamboo forests.
Wugu Market Interior Space by Chung-I Shih was selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Wugu Market Interior Space was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
