Less is More
Less is More is a residential interior design for a 56 square meter apartment. The layout includes an entrance, a living room, a dining room, an open kitchen, a study room, a bedroom and two bathrooms. A half-height television wall replaces the solid wall between the living room and kitchen. A sliding glass door and reeded glass enclose the study room while keeping the plan open. Materials include iron parts, matte black glass, leather and raw concrete. The black, gray and white palette and the hand-applied wall textures create a calm setting.
Less is More Residential by Handy Kuo was highlighted as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Less is More Residential won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
