When Black Meets White
When Black Meets White is an interior design project for a residence of about 195 square meters in Taiwan. Black and white form the main color scheme, and delicate lines and metal elements shape the contemporary character of the space. The living room, dining room and kitchen are joined without partitions to enlarge the shared area and support family interaction. Bright orange leather chairs add contrast. A glass display cabinet behind the sofa stores the collection of action figures. The master bedroom adds wood tones for warmth.
When Black Meets White Residence by Ming Chan Chiang was featured as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. When Black Meets White Residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
