Meat Festival
Meat Festival is the interior design of a Japanese yakiniku family restaurant in Taipei. The 224 square meter space is inspired by traditional Japanese festivals. Fireworks, goldfish fishing, street vendor stalls and children's games are reinterpreted as design elements. Large flags, light boxes, arch structures and the color red create a festive mood. Seating is arranged in the manner of small stalls, and translucent patterned glass divides the upper part of each area. Mesh screens and reflective materials keep the space lively while protecting the privacy of diners.
Meat Festival Restaurant by Chang Ming Hu has been identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Meat Festival Restaurant received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
