Image of Spirit
Image of Spirit is a residential interior design for a house of 920 square meters in the western suburbs of Chengdu. The courtyard is used to organize daily life and to balance internal and external space. A waterscape at the entrance courtyard and indoor lighting connect the ceremonial hall with the outdoors. Natural materials are used, including metal plates, dark wood and wide blank walls, which keep the public areas simple and calm. A family elevator improves vertical movement, and the service entrance is kept apart from the family circulation route.
Image of Spirit Residential House by Luo Gang has been featured as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Image of Spirit Residential House received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
