Reduction
Reduction is a residential interior design for a home of 148.7 square meters in Taiwan. The original four-bedroom layout was replanned into three rooms and two bathrooms. The plan separates public and private areas, with clear circulation and controlled natural light. Concealed doors and sliding doors integrate windows and cabinets into continuous surfaces. Low-saturation gray mineral coating, hand-textured paint and linear lighting create a calm and consistent look, similar to a gallery. The reduced design allows the furniture and the occupants to stand out.
Reduction Residence by ACG Design International was selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Reduction Residence was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
