Intangible Heritage
Intangible Heritage is a series of three illustrations about the intangible cultural heritage of China. The illustrations present Pipa art, Longquan celadon and the Zigong Lantern Festival. Each image is drawn with vector design software, so fine details remain sharp at large print sizes. The printed sheets measure 800 by 800 millimeters. Traditional subjects are translated into a modern visual language for use online, in print media, books and photo albums. The intent is to help the public learn about these traditions.
Intangible Heritage Illustration by Xiaoshu Zhou was featured as an exceptional representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Intangible Heritage Illustration earned the Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2023. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that celebrates excellent design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
