Time of Nature
Time of Nature is a residential interior design for a four-story house in a quiet alley of Shanghai. Each floor has its own theme: a dining and reception area, a reading and meditation space, a relaxed drinking space, and a calm bedroom space. Curves shape the ceilings, the stair handrail and the wall corners. Large old steel windows on the north and south sides bring in natural light. Old wood and antique furniture give the rooms a natural and historical character. The original ceiling was removed to reveal the pitched roof, which was relaid with old wood.
Time of Nature Interior Design by Tian Rui was featured as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Time of Nature Interior Design won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
