Equal by Tklab
Equal is a bar and hybrid retail interior in Taipei. The space of about 1,743 square feet combines a shop, a bar, an event area and a pickup kiosk. A main entrance serves the pickup kiosk, and a side entrance serves the bar. Light is the main feature, and its color, brightness and reflection are set for wine tasting and can be changed with an intelligent light controller. A curved wall gathers wine racks, a draft sake dispensing system, freezers and storage. The warm palette and the cave-like entrance create a relaxed atmosphere.
Equal by Tklab Bar by Ju Yu Wu has been highlighted as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Equal by Tklab Bar was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
