Recombination
Recombination is a series of posters about extinct animals. Each poster places a detailed illustration of an extinct animal at the visual centre, set against a softened map of the geographic location. Highly saturated colours unify the images and separate the animals from the background. Mechanical circuit patterns are merged with the animal forms to suggest a continuation of life. The posters also present the year of extinction and the main physical features. The intent is to inform viewers and to support the protection of living animals.
Recombination Visual Poster Design by Sinong Ding was highlighted as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Recombination Visual Poster Design won the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2024. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that rewards outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
