Billund
Billund is a spice grinder made for whole spices and seasoning blends. The grinding burr is placed at the top, so the grinder is turned upside down during use and leaves no residue on the table. An adjustment knob on top sets the coarseness of the grind. A silicone plug at the base allows easy filling with different spices or blends. The housing is made entirely of a bio-composite of wood cellulose fibres and oils extracted from wood pulp during paper making. The colourful design is inspired by building blocks.
Billund Spice Grinder by Sam Murley was recognized as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Billund Spice Grinder received the Silver A' Design Award in Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design in 2024. The A' Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award that rewards excellent design of pots, pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, baking dishes, graters and more.
