Yu Sir
Yu Sir is an ice cream and dessert shop interior located in Miaoli City, Taiwan. The design follows a simple Japanese style that matches the calm pace of the town. The open layout avoids extra partitions, so daylight moves freely through the space. Reeded glass divides areas while keeping a sense of transparency. Southern pine, plants and non-toxic paints form a warm and fresh setting. A half-open preparation area lets customers see how the food is made. The main public space covers 84 square meters.
Yu Sir Dessert Shop by Chun Wei Tsao was featured as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Yu Sir Dessert Shop was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
