Heritage
Inheritance is a packaging design for a Chinese liquor. The glass bottle has a minimalist form that combines round edges with a square base, echoing the traditional idea that heaven is round and the earth is square. The bottle cap is shaped like the hat of Su Dongpo and is easy to grip and open. Six illustrations narrate stories of the Three Su family and the values linked to it. The outer box is made of premium cardboard with embossing and UV coating. The design aims to present Chinese cultural heritage to consumers.
Heritage Chinese Liquor Packaging by Ruohan Li was selected as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Heritage Chinese Liquor Packaging won the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2024. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which rewards outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
