Rin Display Shelf

Rin

Rin is a display shelf made from Sendan wood from Okinawa Prefecture. The design of the pillars is inspired by the scenery of Japanese bamboo forests. Each pillar is formed by welding four iron rods of different lengths to a steel plate. The pillars are fixed to the wood with screws, which also helps prevent the solid wood from warping. The wood is left unprocessed, so its length and thickness vary and the natural form of each board stays visible. Books and small items can be placed between the pillars. The number of pillars can be increased to suit the space.

Rin Display Shelf by Misaki Kiyuna has been featured as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Rin Display Shelf received the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2024. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which rewards excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
