Shanghai Symphony Orchestra

Shanghai Symphony Orchestra is a series of annual main visual designs created for the oldest symphony orchestra in Asia, founded in 1879. The series covers the years 2020 to 2024. Each visual image expresses the charm, rhythm, melody, unity and variation of music through abstract flat composition. The curved forms refer to the concert hall, a building with a downward curved roof. Unity and variation in the graphics highlight the arc of the roof. The series is decorative and visually appealing.

Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Visual Design for 2020 - 2024 by XIAOLING DAI has been recognized as an exceptional example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Visual Design for 2020 - 2024 received the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2024. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
