Bamboo Realm
Bamboo Realm is an immersive public art installation that combines visual and sound elements. The installation is formed by 1999 bamboo pieces of varying heights, arranged to create a golden bamboo forest. Sensory interactive technology allows visitors to influence the flow of light and shadow through their movement and position. The contrast of gold and green connects traditional bamboo symbolism with modern technology. Bamboo is a renewable material, and the lighting design follows energy saving principles.
Bamboo Realm Spacial Communication by Jiali Liu was highlighted as an outstanding example of strategy design by the A' Design Awards. Bamboo Realm Spacial Communication received the Iron A' Design Award in Generative, Algorithmic, Parametric and AI-Assisted Design in 2025. The A' Generative, Algorithmic, Parametric and AI-Assisted Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which recognizes outstanding design of algorithmic artworks, parametric architectures, generative graphics, AI-Assisted illustrations, computational sculptures, procedural patterns, evolutionary installations, interactive experiences and more.
