Pacific Aquarium
As Southern California's largest aquarium, the Pacific Aquarium showcases best represents the Pacific Ocean's rich diversity. The rebranding improved legibility and memorability and simplified the name to The Pacific Aquarium. The design features fluid shapes and a custom font, evoking the ocean's dynamic nature and reinforcing the aquarium's mission of accessibility, education, and conservation through an adaptable, cohesive visual identity.
Pacific Aquarium Rebranding by Mikayla Gao has been recognized as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Pacific Aquarium Rebranding received the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2025. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade which recognizes exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
