Spiritual Casa
Spiritual Casa is a residential interior design for a four-story house of 146 square meters in the countryside of Yilan, Taiwan. The design combines Chinese and Spanish traditions. Triangular wooden beams, Spanish tiles and a kitchen island recall Spanish country architecture. Screens, flowering crabapple motifs and antique coin patterns refer to Asian customs. Hand-woven rattan furniture is made by local artisans with mortise and tenon joints. Grey and milk-tea earth tones create a neutral background, and central islands and cabinets keep the circulation open.
Spiritual Casa Residence by Meng Chuan Ho has been featured as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Spiritual Casa Residence received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
