Path of Light
Path of Light is a two-story design studio interior located in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The workspace is arranged like a gallery, where daylight defines openness and flow. Staggered three quarter height walls modulate light and shadow to add spatial depth. Stone textured surfaces guide movement and reduce maintenance. The ground floor holds a reception, an open meeting area and offices. The second floor contains a salon, a material display room and an open classroom, with warm wood tones and ambient lighting. Existing structures and furniture were retained to reduce material use.
Path of Light Studio by Yi Yuen Chang was highlighted as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Path of Light Studio was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
