Circus
Circus is a series of glass sculptures inspired by circus performers. The forms are made from high-grade soda-lime glass using hot glass blowing and shaping techniques. Bold, mismatched colors and exaggerated asymmetrical shapes reflect the disorder of modern urban life. The ball and legs of each sculpture are joined by hot bonding, and thermal annealing stabilizes the final form. Each piece is handcrafted with precision for balance and stability. Circus is made for observation, and its appearance changes with ambient light and viewing angle.
Circus Glass Sculpture Series by Egemen Kemal Vurusan was selected as an exceptional representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Circus Glass Sculpture Series received the Iron A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2025. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award that honors excellent design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
