Roof House
The Roof House project, situated on the roof of a car showroom in Kermanshah, challenges conventional beliefs about residential spaces. This project explores alternative ways to transfigure the house concept and shift its understanding from a new perspective. It reinterprets the generic house through three key concepts: Destruction, where external forces deform the house; Explosion, where structural and non-structural elements exaggerate and withdraw from the debris; and Expansion, where objects dominate others by spreading their essence.
Roof House Residential by Yahya Kashi has been featured as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Roof House Residential was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that recognizes outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
