The Boomerang
The Boomerang Athens is a residence in Athens, Greece, spanning 425 square meters across four levels. The building is the renovation of an existing structure, upgraded for net-zero energy performance. High-performance insulation, triple-glazed thermally broken aluminium windows and underfloor heating reduce the energy demand. A KNX automation network controls heating, cooling, lighting and security. Photovoltaic-integrated pergolas and low-emission finishes support sustainability. A rooftop pool and large windows link the interior with outdoor areas.
The Boomerang House by VASSILIS SIAFARICAS was recognized as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Boomerang House was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that honors superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
