Masseria Auraterrae
Masseria Auraterrae is a nature resort located in Polignano a Mare, Puglia, Italy. The project restores a historical building of 3000 square metres within 120000 square metres of land. The design follows the Roots concept, which values traditional practices, local materials and construction techniques passed down through generations. Locally available materials reduce transport needs and support the local economy. Rainwater harvesting, renewable energy and organic waste management are integrated. Stone epigraphs and other historic elements were preserved.
Masseria Auraterrae Nature Resort by Bepi Giuseppe Povia was recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Masseria Auraterrae Nature Resort received the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade that recognizes excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
