Rizhao Zhonggu Logistics
Rizhao Zhonggu Logistics is an office building in a coastal logistics park in Rizhao, China. The form recalls a loaded cargo ship ready to depart. The tower is square, like stacked shipping containers, and the podiums on each side are inclined like the bow of a freighter. The entrance uses a curved shape inspired by a sail. The facade is made of aluminum panels that resist salt fog and are easy to maintain. LED lighting is placed within each exterior panel to make the building visible at night.
Rizhao Zhonggu Logistics Business Building by Liang Wei was highlighted as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Rizhao Zhonggu Logistics Business Building earned the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which rewards excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
