Dissolving Corbin Building
Dissolving Corbin Building is a mixed-use building design based on the adaptive reuse of the historic Corbin Building in Lower Manhattan, New York. The vertical complex rises about 55 metres over 15 floors and combines housing, communal kitchens, a public food court, a food market and vertical farming. A new steel frame carries prefabricated modular units with articulated brick and terracotta cladding. Rooftop gardens and a rooftop bar above the adjacent Fulton Center extend a public route that begins at the subway. Shared cooking and dining are treated as community spaces.
Dissolving Corbin Building Mixed Use by Zihua Mo was identified as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dissolving Corbin Building Mixed Use was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2026.
