Garden Within
Garden Within is an interior design for a residence of about 512 square meters in Taipei, Taiwan. The layout follows the spiral geometry of the tower, and curved forms in the foyer, corridors and main living spaces extend sight lines toward a panoramic terrace. The entrance foyer holds movable furnishings and a sculptural bar counter, so it can serve as a reception area for events. The dining room sits in a cylindrical volume with four arched automated doors in Silver Fox marble that frame garden views. The tea room converts into a study or a reception room.
Garden Within Residence by James Tu has been recognized as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Garden Within Residence received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
