Dcl
Dcl is a chair made entirely of high density fiberboard. Every part is cut with a CNC router. The chair is painted in a bright solid color, and any color can be applied. Seen from a distance, Dcl looks almost like a cubic block of solid color rather than a chair. The design follows a chair study by the Italian architect and designer Cesare Leonardi, which remained a wooden model and was never produced. The name Dcl stands for Dopo Cesare Leonardi, meaning After Cesare Leonardi. The chair measures 55 by 50 by 70 centimeters.
Dcl Chair by Álvaro Wolmer was recognized as a grand example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Dcl Chair won the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2026. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which honors outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
