Neumatt
Neumatt Sports Center is a three-pitch sports hall in Strengelbach, Switzerland. Inside, green, yellow, red, orange and blue are used both as decoration and as a navigation system, and changing rooms are identified by color instead of numbers. The glazed upper level uses capillary glass that brings daylight deep into the hall and reduces glare. A geothermal heat pump heats the building in winter and cools it in summer, so air conditioning is not required. The rendered base carries a pattern of sport icons.
Neumatt Sports Center by Evolution Design was selected as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Neumatt Sports Center received the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2016. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that celebrates superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
