QWERTY
QWERTY is a sofa bed shaped like a computer keyboard. Each key forms a soft cushion that supports the user while working at the office or at home. Micro electric motors, controlled by a remote unit, adjust every key cushion separately, so the whole surface can be reshaped. The remote offers ten preset settings, and further settings can be added. QWERTY can be used as a sofa, as a bed or as a fully customized support. The design turns a familiar everyday image into flexible furniture with a light touch of irony.
QWERTY Sofa by Andrea Cingoli was recognized as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. QWERTY Sofa received the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2018. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program that rewards superior design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
