Operetta
Operetta means light opera, a modern genre of performing arts. The design evolves around a concept of stage, interaction between performers and audience. It combines modern design ideas with 17-18th century design styles. Looking through an EYE at the entrance is a front hall of classic architectural style. Iconic theatre elements such as domes, arcs, and art of the 17th and 18th centuries are adapted for a modern feeling. Through a corridor to the dining hall is of a modern style. Modern lighting system, materials and colours are chosen to create a grand atmosphere comparable to a theatre.
Operetta Restaurant by Monique Lee was selected as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Operetta Restaurant won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2018. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
