Phan
Phan Collection is inspired by the phan container that is a Thai container culture. The designer uses the structure of phan containers to make the structure of furniture that makes it strong. Design the form and detail that make it modern and simple. The designer used laser-cut technology and a folding metal sheet machine combination with CNC wood for making a complex and unique detail that is different than others. The surface has been finished with a powder-coated system to make the structure stay long, strong but light.
Phan Collection by Yongphan Sundara-vicharana has been selected as a creative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Phan Collection earned the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that recognizes excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
