Profoundness of Structures
Profoundness of Structures is a five-floor residence and art exhibition space in Tainan, Taiwan. Architectural grilles bring daylight and fresh air into the house and help control the indoor temperature. The grilles reduce the heat absorbed by concrete structures in the subtropical climate and save energy. Fair-faced concrete, steel, wood and track lighting form a minimal interior that highlights the paintings on the walls. Grass pavers at the entrance improve the water retention of the soil. A fish pond and a corridor of terrazzo and cobblestones create a natural setting.
Profoundness of Structures Residential by Chong-Yi Chen has been featured as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Profoundness of Structures Residential was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
