Happy Ginger Ale
Happy Ginger Ale is a packaging design for a ginger beverage sold in aluminum cans. Each can measures 115 millimeters in length, 66 millimeters in width and 66 millimeters in height. The main visual is a hand drawn illustration of four characters named Ginger Man, Ginger Lady, Ginger Grandma and Ginger Kid. The four figures represent men, women, older people and children. Each character holds a can and shows a satisfied expression. The simple and lively style aims to build an emotional connection and to invite consumers to taste the ginger flavor.
Happy Ginger Ale Beverage by Wen Liu has been featured as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Happy Ginger Ale Beverage won the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
