Beauty of Yinyang
Beauty of Yinyang is a residential interior design of 300 square meters in Taichung, Taiwan. The design applies the balanced symmetry of Yinyang, a principle of traditional Chinese thought, to a modern home. Symmetrical layouts and linear elements create a sense of order and calm. A circle shapes the dining area, referring to family gatherings around a shared meal. The materials include genuine timber, marble, gold foil and vintage glass window craft. A large water ink painting on paper is mounted on one wall.
Beauty of Yinyang Residence by Sung Chih Hsiu was recognized as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Beauty of Yinyang Residence earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade that celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
