Absolute Nature
Absolute Nature is a residential interior design for a four-story building in Pingtung City, Taiwan. The total area is 245 square meters, including an outdoor garden. The design is inspired by the traditional stone slab house and by local aboriginal arts and crafts. Small original windows were replaced with glass walls, and skylights and high ceilings were added. The central staircase was removed and rebuilt as a single stringer staircase at the end of the building to form an open layout. Cement, glass, driftwood, tiles and recycled timber are used.
Absolute Nature Residence by Li-Hsu Tsai was highlighted as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Absolute Nature Residence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade which honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
