Gluck Cafe
Gluck Cafe is a commercial interior design located beside a riverbank park in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The name Gluck comes from a German word meaning luck and happiness. The 65 square metre space is a renovation of a 30 year old building and joins a cafe, a shop and display areas. The plan follows a loop: an outer square holds the display stands and bar seating, while an inner square holds the working area with kitchen equipment and the checkout counter. Marble, cement, wood and steel are used, and a wide glass facade brings the river views into the interior.
Gluck Cafe Commercial Space by Hsin Chen has been recognized as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Gluck Cafe Commercial Space earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
