Taizhou Mansion
Taizhou Mansion is a commercial building located in an old town area of Taizhou, China. The design references the traditional Chinese garden. Zigzag walls and winding paths separate the site from the noisy surroundings and frame selected views. A main courtyard is placed at the center, and the functional spaces are arranged around the courtyard to form a circular route. Smaller courtyards are linked by the winding paths. White sandstone, metallic aluminium sheet, glass and metal grids are used. Standardized module design is applied throughout.
Taizhou Mansion Commercial Architecture by FENG CHENG has been identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Taizhou Mansion Commercial Architecture received the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which celebrates superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
