Hanyangling
Hanyangling is a museum exhibition design dedicated to the Han Dynasty in Xi'an City. The museum covers 1600 square meters on two floors, one of which is underground. Han Dynasty pottery figurines unearthed by archaeological excavation are displayed in cabinets made in three sizes. Spotlights are added in different numbers according to the density of the relics on show. Stone is used on the walls and grey plastic on the floor to create a calm atmosphere. Multimedia interactive areas and a reproduction of an archaeological site explain the culture of the period.
Hanyangling Museum by Biwei Zhu has been identified as an exceptional representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Hanyangling Museum earned the Silver A' Design Award in Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design in 2020. The A' Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which recognizes superior design of cultural heritage projects, cultural conversation, preservation, restoration and protection projects, heritage architecture and more.
