Centrestage 2018
Tomorrow Lab is an event space design created for Centrestage, a fashion event held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for four days. The design covers three communal areas: the entry concourse, a central display and a catwalk arena inside the exhibition hall. A futuristic industrial laboratory theme is applied throughout. Moving robotic arms and conveyor belt showcases present the fashion brands. The structures were prefabricated off site and assembled in three days. Metal hollow sections were recycled after the event and the carpets were biodegradable.
Centrestage 2018 Event Organisers Space by Hong Kong Trade Development Council was identified as an outstanding representation of service design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Centrestage 2018 Event Organisers Space was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Event and Happening Design in 2020. The A' Event and Happening Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that rewards exceptional design of trade fairs, award ceremonies, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, product launches, charity events and more.
