Lvdu Yanmingxu
Lvdu Yanmingxu is an interior design project for a sales center in the Yanming Lake Scenic Area of Zhengzhou, China. The design explores the relevance of modernism within the local geographical and cultural context. The beauty of the architecture is shown through changes of light and shadow. The form draws on the mortise and tenon joint used in traditional Chinese timber structures, reinterpreted with modern methods. The open space is full of light and surrounded by layers of greenery. Nature, light, sound and air create a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Lvdu Yanmingxu Sales Center by Wally Mau has been recognized as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Lvdu Yanmingxu Sales Center received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
