Borboleta
Borboleta is a brand system created for two gas station networks that belong to the same owner group in Brazil. Dislub operates in the northeast and Equador operates in the north, and both networks keep their own names. A shared symbol in the shape of a butterfly links the two brands. The butterfly refers to transformation and renewal, and its outline also recalls the silhouette of the Brazilian territory. Three colors are used, one for each company and a third color for their union. The logo is built on a module-based grid.
Borboleta Brand System by Juan Eugenio Mallo Camera was identified as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Borboleta Brand System earned the Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2020. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which honors superior design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
