The Botanic
The Botanic is a packaging design for raw honey presented in a 380 ml glass jar. The label is made of dark green uncoated paper and is shaped by multi-level debossing and a die-cut hexagon, a form that recalls the honeycomb. Matte silkscreen and clear gloss foil elements add contrast to the dark background. A double-sided folded hangtag carries the product description. Each jar is closed with a wooden lid made by hand from linden wood, the tree whose nectar is gathered by the bees. The design reflects the purity of the raw honey.
The Botanic Raw Honey by Zanas Karenauskas was recognized as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. The Botanic Raw Honey earned the Golden A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which recognizes exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
