Light Box
Light Box is a residential interior design created for an apartment in Taichung City, Taiwan. The concept centers on a floating cubic unit that glows in the middle of the space. The multifunctional room is lifted 40 centimeters and can serve as a workout area, a washitsu for guests, a guest room or an extension of the living room. Ceiling hooks support suspension training, and a mirrored wall folds down to reveal a double bed. Semi-open layouts, transparent materials and custom wood frames keep the interior light. A palette of blue, black and grey sets a futuristic tone.
Light Box Residential by Kai-Shin Lo has been selected as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Light Box Residential earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
