Realm of Serenity
Realm of Serenity is a residential interior located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The home covers about 240 square meters and holds a living room, dining area, kitchen, rumpus room, tatami room, storage room, a master bedroom, a guest bedroom and three bathrooms. The original four-room layout was changed into a two-room plan, so the plumbing and wiring were reconfigured. Materials include Neolith slate, smoked oak and hairline finished stainless steel. Surfaces of low reflectivity and calm tones let the wide windows link the interior with the city and harbor view.
Realm of Serenity Residence by Sean Chang has been identified as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Realm of Serenity Residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
