Monologue
Monologue is a residential interior design for a luxury home in Tainan, Taiwan. The layout joins the living room and the dining room into one social space that can be adapted to different activities. Materials in varied textures and colors are combined to give the space a vivid character. Marble weighing 800 kilograms is used for the television wall and the bar area. The marble is cut to reveal its true texture, and the different surfaces create varied visual effects. The black, white and gray palette recalls the lines of traditional Chinese painting.
Monologue Interior Space by BALANCEINTERIOR was featured as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Monologue Interior Space received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
