Jiu Ming Tang
Jiu Ming Tang is a gift packaging design for Chinese liquor linked to the Dragon Boat Festival. The outer box is made of environmentally friendly paper and shaped with a hot pressing process. A red seal refers to a traditional Chinese wish for good luck. The seal is torn open and the box unfolds like a scroll, which invites interaction. The plain outer surface contrasts with colorful festival illustrations inside, creating a strong visual effect. The design brings traditional festival elements into a modern package to support cultural identity.
Jiu Ming Tang Liquor by Wang Qi Jun has been featured as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Jiu Ming Tang Liquor earned the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which honors outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
