Fontworks Inc. Tokyo
Fontworks Inc. Tokyo is a head office interior for a type foundry, located on the fifth floor of a building in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The office covers 431 square metres and is planned around the fusion of analog and digital work. A C-shaped desk supports creative tasks and collaboration between employees. A large display set in the centre of a wall stays connected with the Creative Lab in Fukuoka, so the two sites can communicate online. A stair-shaped bench near the entrance allows casual meetings with visitors. Materials include carpet tiles, wood, Corian, steel and cork board.
Fontworks Inc. Tokyo Head Office by Tomohiro Katsuki has been selected as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Fontworks Inc. Tokyo Head Office was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
