Jinxiu
Jinxiu is a restaurant interior located inside a commercial complex in Nanjing. The design covers 400 square meters and works with the many existing columns of the building. The columns are used to plan the flow line and the placement of the dining seats, giving the space a clear hierarchy. The layout follows a central axis that creates a sense of sequence. Forms are drawn from the abstract shape of a bright moon and from Jiangnan garden techniques, with rock and window scenery as decoration. Sea base cloth covers the walls and is hand painted with waterproof latex paint.
Jinxiu Restaurant by Anfei Ge has been featured as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Jinxiu Restaurant received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
