Garden
Garden is a packaging design for plant essential oils. The structure combines a box with a pop-up mechanism, a technique usually found in interactive books. When the packaging is opened, chairs rise and a garden stage background unfolds, together with a swinging ballerina figure. The scene turns the act of opening into a short performance rather than a simple task. The packaging is made of degradable plant fiber paper. The pop-up structure enriches the interior space and supports the garden theme of the product. The overall size is 290 by 150 by 86 millimeters.
Garden Essential Oil Packaging by Ethan Zhang has been highlighted as a grand example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Garden Essential Oil Packaging received the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
